Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Stumbled upon this place on a random search in Google... Turns out this chicken rice shop has quite a fan base! They do not offer dine-in options, only for takeaway. Chicken rice has got two kinds: rice ball / 散饭, roasted chicken / steamed white chicken. Had the rice balls, they're not too shabby, it's quite sticky, there's is peppery taste thats quite mild but definitely complements the flavour, I don't think there's ginger coz I can't taste any (which I like hehe) so it's not like the typical chicken rice balls kinda taste.. A single portion of rice balls come in the size of 5riceballs.. Steamed chicken is quite ok, meat is tender, quite juicy, the soy sauce wasn't too salty and certainly did not mask away the flavours of the chicken. Too bad I had the breast and wings part, as my fav thigh part has sold out. Chili was very spicy, but the tanginess definitely makes up for it, goes well with the rice or meat, mind you it is not those chili that is very sour zesty that its very appetising as a starters kind. They do sell pau and mantau as well, and boy we're they fluffy! Very very beautifully made! Only takeaway available, and during peak hours you may need to queue and wait as uncle works alone only."
"Selling hainanese chicken rice / rice ball, the chili best Very affordable price in Melaka."
"A hidden gem in Melaka where you can find good Hainam chicken rice.. Chicken is juicy and the rice ball is soft and tasty.. Also the hainamese chicken pau is great.. handmade and the pau is fluffy much.."
"推荐来到马六甲,不可以错过的祖传海南美南鸡粒饭,还有他们家的手工包,每天都是新鲜制作,sambal包,鸡肉包,kaya包,豆沙包,馅料都是店家自己煮的,全部都是我的最爱,每次去马六甲一定打包很多回KL,塞到满满的才有满足感"
"这家的手工包子真的很好吃最喜欢这家了~价格又亲民"
"By far the best chicken rice ball I've ever tried!! The chilli are superb as well. The handmade Pau also nice."
"Hainanese chicken rice ball set is really flavoursome yet not oily or too salty. The portion is not very big but the taste and texture is just perfect! They also sell handmade buns- chicken meat, Sambal, peanut, jicama, Kaya, plain bun, lotus paste and red bean. This is the one and only chicken meat bun shop in Melaka. Chicken meat bun is greatly recommended. Off on Monday and Tuesday."
"One of the best Chicken Rice in Melaka with the cheapest price of RM4.50 . Besides they also selling some traditional Pau such as Chicken pao or Ikan bilis pao."
